🔥 Satoshi Tajiri: The Pokémon creator who changed the world from his bedroom

When we hear Pokémon , many of us think of Pikachu, the Pokédex, our first adventures on Game Boy.
But behind all that universe is a brilliant, introverted and passionate mind: Satoshi Tajiri .

👶 From weird kid… to dreamer

Satoshi was born in Tokyo in 1965 and was different from a young age.
He loved collecting insects , exploring nature and creating his own worlds.

His friends nicknamed him Dr. Bug , and that obsession with collecting would be the seed that, years later, would give rise to Pokémon.

But he didn't do well at school. He was bored. His parents worried.
Only one thing excited him: video games .

🕹️ The birth of Game Freak

Tajiri started out writing a fanzine called Game Freak , where he reviewed arcade games.
There he met Ken Sugimori , the illustrator who would give visual form to Pokémon.
Together they founded a small company with the same name… and the rest is history.

💡 The Pokémon moment

The idea came to him when he first saw the Game Boy Link cable:
“What if we could trade creatures between players?”

This is how the concept of Pokémon was born:

• An adventure game

• Based on exploration and collection

• Where players could share part of their world

🚨 Nobody believed in him… except Nintendo

They spent 6 years developing the first Pokémon , without resources or guarantees.
But Satoshi didn't give up . His vision was stronger than his fear.

And in 1996, Pokémon Red and Green arrived in Japan.
📈 In less than a year, they were already a phenomenon.

🌍 The impact

• Pokémon has sold more than 440 million games

• Generated more than $100 billion

• And it continues to excite entire generations.

But beyond the money, what Tajiri did was something bigger:

He gave us a world where being different was okay.
Where collecting, exploring and connecting were paramount.
